Malcolm Cleope is the owner and principal of “The Accounting Group”. The Accounting Group is a Waterloo-based accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation, and consulting service. Malcolm and his team take pride in providing personalized service to their clients.
Malcolm has been working as a small business owner and non-profit accountant since 1996. Besides his experience with non-profits, he has done accounting for property management companies, beauty salons, auto dealers, transportation/trucking, aviation and various small business owners. Malcolm has provided individual and corporate Tax Preparation services for over 20 years. He enjoys the challenge of diverse tax situations and is currently an Enrolled Agent, a tax professional enrolled to represent clients and taxpayers with the IRS. Malcolm is familiar with several different accounting software packages, including QuickBooks, Peachtree, MYOB, CWU, and others.
Malcolm graduated with a degree in accounting from San Beda College. He also attained an MBA degree with a major in Accounting and Finance from Keller Graduate School of Management in 2003. After a stint as a tax/audit/staff person for an accounting firm, he went to work for various industries. Most recently he was the officer-in-charge of a non-profit organization overseas for 9 years. He enjoys working with people from different cultures and all walks of life.
Malcolm is also a commercial pilot for single engine and multi-engine airplanes with an instrument rating. He is a certified flight instructor for airplane and instruments. His interests include spending time with his family, coaching and playing volleyball, fixing computers, teaching and flying airplanes, studying the Bible, reading history, and joining small group church ministries.
