Malcolm Cleope is the owner and principal of “The Accounting Group, LLC”. The Accounting Group, LLC is a Waterloo, IA based Accounting, Tax, and Advisory Firm. Malcolm and his team take pride in providing personalized service to their clients, on-site or online.
Malcolm has been working with various businesses and non-profit groups since 1996. He also has experience with property management companies, beauty salons, auto dealers, transportation/trucking, aviation, boutique stores and other small to mid-size businesses. Malcolm has provided Individual and Corporate Tax Preparation services for over 20 years. Additionally, he is also offering CFO/Fractional, Accounting, Tax Advisory and Tax Resolution service. He enjoys the challenge of diverse situation whether accounting, advisory or tax situations and is currently an Enrolled Agent, a tax professional enrolled to represent clients and taxpayers with the IRS.
Malcolm is familiar with several different accounting software packages, including QuickBooks, Peachtree, now known as SAGE, MYOB, CWU, and a few others.
Malcolm graduated with a degree in accounting from San Beda College. He also attained an MBA degree with a major in Accounting and Finance from Keller Graduate School of Management in 2003. After a stint as a tax/audit/staff person for a large accounting firm, he went to work for various industries. Most recently he was the officer-in-charge of a non-profit organization overseas for 9 years. He enjoys working with people from different cultures and all walks of life.
Malcolm is a commercial pilot with single and multi-engine airplane with an instrument rating. He is also a certified flight instructor for airplane and instruments. Additionally, he flies for an aerial survey mapping company mapping streets and areas you would see in your iphone or ipad and flight instruct with a local flight school.
His interests include spending time with his family, coaching and playing volleyball, fixing computers, teaching and flying airplanes, studying the Bible, reading history, and joining small group church ministries.
